Chef Maurice Santucci

Maurice started his apprenticeship in cooking at Mietta’s in 1998 under Jacque Reymond and also worked at some of Melbourne’s best dining establishments like Florentino, France Soir, La Madrague, Le Restaurant at The Regent and finding his passion for Italian food whilst working at The Latin with Bill Marchetti.

Cooking took Maurice to Noosa, Sydney and back to Melbourne working at the Grand in Richmond and his last Head chefs position at Termini in St.Kilda.

In May 2007 Maurice decided to open his own restaurant ‘Sosta Cucina’ North Melbourne. He decided to swap roles to take charge of the dining room. With a steep learning curve in customer service and finding a real passion for Italian wine, Maurice has made this transition seamless.

Sosta Cucina has been a real gem not just for locals but for all lovers of fine Italian Cucina. Sosta Cucina’s menu is constantly evolving; incorporating the best seasonal produce as well as showcasing fantastic Italian products.

On offer is a selection of daily additional dishes depending on what is sourced at the market! Sosta prides itself on a great selection of fine Italian wines as well as offering a broad selection from Australia’s most renowned wine regions.
